February 11th - hometown gig !!!
If you follow us on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/dixiefried.band) then you will know we are going to be playing our first gig of 2012 in both of our hometown, which is Whitburn West Lothian.
It's a gig for our rehearsal space, where we are playing alongside 2 other bands that also practise there. We are looking to update our P.A. speakers for the studio, and also buy a few new pieces of equipment for our recording suite, every penny counts.
The other bands playing are Freaky Circles - that play covers from the 60's through to present day and The Stasi Circus Troupe who (for a 3 piece) play original, loud, alternative punk rock.
We are also very fortunate to have been able to persuade a good friend of our's at Dixie Fried HQ, to come down from the Forth Delta, and play us some rockin' harmonica laden alternative blues, the undeniable Homesick Aldo (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Homesick-Aldo/153089714723699?sk=wall).
This is a gig we have been looking forward to for a couple of reasons. One, we get to play right in our own backyard to people who struggle to travel to any of the cities to catch our gigs. Two, we can play a few new tunes that we have been working on for our next album, and yet to be aired anywhere. So to catch the first impressions will help decide if the tracks are good enough to make the cut, your input will be very much appreciated. I can promise the one's we are rehearsing for this gig are very up tempo so hopeully they will knock yer socks off !!!!
Hope you can make it, and if you need any directions please check our shows page (http://www.dixiefried.co.uk/shows/) for full address. Entry is only £3 on the door, and the drink is very cheap in this venue.
Keep it Dixie y'all
