The last couple of weekends have been pretty special in the old Dixie Fried camp, and now is time to share with you our good fortunes.
Over the moon to advise that our first recording session for album number 3 was mind blowing. We rehearsed like mad in the run up to those 3 days hoping to try and put to bed as many tunes as we could. Our full approach to these recordings was just another step up from anything we done before, and just listening to the first mix of all the tracks we got finished we know we are on to something just a wee bit special.
A big thanks to Graeme for his ears, idea's, space and willingness to try new things. Made the whole weekend one great experience.
The second session will follow soon, as we go away and get the next batch of songs ready to come back to the studio again. Already started on a brand new one which is completely different from anything we have done previously, but one we have probably planned much more than anything before.
Then, the following weekend we again got to attend Jocktoberfest on the Black Isle. We cannot say enough good things about this festival. The location, the people, the vibe, the bands, the beer, the brewers and staff, the food every facet is just right to being a great weekend...and it delivers. For sure we will be looking out for when the tickets go on sale next year, as it is very limited numbers. Do yourself a favour and like the facebook page and watch out for updates. Last year we took one mate up, based on our comments more than a dozen came this year, next year numbers are already upwards of thirty desperate to be a part of it, we cannot blame them.

We have been working hard for the past few weeks and focusing almost entirely on being ready for tomorrow. Its been a couple of years since we have been into a professional studio, and boy are we ready to get stuck into this. The last rehearsal was unreal, everything is falling into place, cannot wait.
Recording session one of our third album begins tomorrow...
New equipment...new noises to be made...new tunes unheard anywhere other than our two pairs of ears...and a good few tunes that have been played live many times this year
Its safe to say that yes we are looking forward to this...A LOT

It is with absolute great honour to be able to announce some dates we will be doing during October and November with 2 amazing Scottish acts. At present there are 4 dates the length of Scotland, there may be more dates added real soon...
As the above poster shows we are doing 4 shows in Bathgate, Perth, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock (so far), along with Aberdeen's own Full Fat and Kilmarnock's Matt Scott. We are lucky enough to have played a few shows with Matt over the past couple of years and just know this mixture with the absolutely outstanding Full Fat and ourselves are going to leave many people very happy at these live shows.
