Hello world...

We have been out of the public eye this first six months of 2017, only making one rare appearance in April supporting the outstanding Black Cat Bone at the Liquid Rooms. Was a genuine honour to play to a packed room in the beautiful Voodoo Rooms yet again (becoming a habit). If you are available on Friday 23rd June then get along to see their first show at King Tuts Glasgow, you will not be disappointed.

So back to us, we have been publicly quiet but seriously very busy back in the Dixie Fried Cave planning World domination for when our third album is released in just a few months time. Cannot say too much about it just now, as we really want to ensure this wall of sound knocks you off your feet, but I can say that it will be finished this weekend with the last mixing session fast approaching. It is our biggest album to date, with a lot of care and attention going into every detail that we aim to deliver to you, on every level.

In the meantime a few shows, we have announced we are absolutely honoured to be returning for THE THIRD YEAR IN A ROW to Jocktoberfest the first weekend in September. It is one festival that feels so very special to us - as it was the first time we ever had a 6'3" man dressed as a pink flamingo, crowd surfing, while being fully Dixie Fried - good times. And at only £35 a ticket it is a total bargain.

We have more festivals to announce, but waiting for festival to announce full line up before we can do the same...

We are playing a very special local gig on Friday 28th July at our favourite Dreadnought in Bathgate, with the top dollar Palmiros and a joint acoustic gig between our good friends Gary Burns & Ewan Butler.

We can now also announce we will be playing at this years ALMOST BLUE festival in Dundee. We will be playing 7pm in Liquid Envy on South Ward Road. So, all you good people in Tayside will be first to hear a lot of new tracks from the new album as well as some thumping rhythmic blues to kick start the weekend.

New tunes, and...

We are so much loving the creative process of finding the groove of new tunes becoming their own beautiful thing.

We have been working real hard with some tunes, knowing roughly where they were wanting to end up and we just jam them out.

It's like walking through some thick mist and seeing in the distance the blurry shape of what you know is the morning sun, and as you walk closer and closer to the light the fog starts to clear as the tune gets closer and closer to the finished article.

Last night we both got that almost eureka moment, as the fog thinned to having 3 tunes within touching distance of completion...it's an adrenalin buzz & a half...it's those feelings of the genesis that keeps us doing this, that then that moment when we get to unleash them for the first time to an audience, unbeatable.

Few shows being booked, final recording session for album booked, first 2 summer festivals confirmed...it's been a great few weeks.

It has been a crazy few months since our last update, many apologies. We had an absolute blast playing some great shows with 2 amazing acts. Which just goes to prove that the talent here in Scotland is second to none. We were lucky enough to play with Aberdeen trio Full Fat and the Ayrshire Adonis Matt Scott over quite a few shows all over Scotland. From Aberdeen to the Isle of Arran audiences were wowed and many more new music lovers have some new bands to follow. Fingers crossed we can do some more gigs with all of these guys again. We loved every minute (apart from the parking ticket in Aberdeen grrrr).

For the last 6 weeks or so, we have been honing two brand new tunes and about to demo them for more tweeking over next month or so. The tweeking will be continuing whilst honing the next three. Bringing a further five completed tunes for recording and completing album number three, for release during the summer months. As soon as we have details we will let yo know ASAP

Full Fat are from Aberdeen, we played with in Dundee back in May. A 3 piece that will blow you away. Well we certainly were and know they will deliver. Here is a recent cover they recorded
