Hello you lovely people,
What can I say, but its good to be back…we haven’t really gone away, but taking a small break from playing live gave us more time to focus on new tunes and glad to say we are very excited about what we have achieved, so far…
Anyway, more exciting news very soon but the reason for reaching out to you all now is something we are over the moon to be involved with.
SATURDAY 16th FEBRUARY we are supporting the Grammy nominated Cedric Burnside playing at McChuills in Glasgow
Also on the bill is Glasgow band Hicks
Now an artist in his own right, emerging from the huge shadow of his drum kit where he sat for his “Big Daddy” grandfather RL Burnside. His first album with Lightnin Malcolm as part of the 2 Man Wrecking Crew was a statement of where he was going. 10 years later as a Grammy nominated artist for last years album Benton County Relic. Played at the 2018 Edinburgh Blues Festival (as did Dixie Fried).
If you know anything about Dixie Fried as a band, then RL Burnside has had a MASSIVE influence on where we come from style wise. Hill Country Blues music is our foundation, and where we build all our tunes from. In fact the album Burnside on Burnside still remains as one of our very favourite live albums.
Tickets are still available on this link

A quick run down of the summer highlights...we got to play in some of our very favourite places, Almost Blue Dundee, Dreadnought Bathgate, Belladrum, supporting Miracle Glass Company and last but certainly not least Jocktoberfest at the Black Isle Brewery. A truly special summer, thank you to all who came to see us again, and also those that found their way into the Dixie Fried groove, we hope it is one you will enjoy for a long time.
We are desperate to get this album out as we have some great things happening all over it. We have invested everything we can to make it sound as good as we can. Spent many many hours pouring over every detail, from every note and drum beat, to artwork getting the right tone and angle, to even arguing over the bit rate that digital distributors will accept. We are very emotionally attached to this in making it the very best we can, and hope that transfers over to the music.
Release date will be announced in the next month, as we are busy working out some finer details to make it even more special for those that are with us on our journey to our THIRD ALBUM RELEASE !!!
As we have said right from the start...'Keep it Dixie y'all'
It is with absolute great honour to be able to announce some dates we will be doing during October and November with 2 amazing Scottish acts. At present there are 4 dates the length of Scotland, there may be more dates added real soon...
As the above poster shows we are doing 4 shows in Bathgate, Perth, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock (so far), along with Aberdeen's own Full Fat and Kilmarnock's Matt Scott. We are lucky enough to have played a few shows with Matt over the past couple of years and just know this mixture with the absolutely outstanding Full Fat and ourselves are going to leave many people very happy at these live shows.
More details for each night will be on all the social media sites of each artist and also on our own gig page here as well.
Keep it Dixie y'all - but this time with loads of extra calories involved
