Good to be back...& a competition !!!!

Yes, yes, yes

​Last night saw us hit the stage and live circuit once again, and bloody hell it was well worth the wait. We played the first of two nights with The Beards at The Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh, as the warm up act. I'd like to think we ticked every box required. Bit of banter with the crowd (who were in great spirits), and built our set up to a nice crescendo for the headline act. 

Certainly seeing a crowd at the front of the stage getting a bit of a mosh going on is something we never tire of seeing. Seeing that you guys are enjoying the tunes as much as ourselves whilst playing in one big buzz and a half let me tell you. The crowd were exceptional all night, not just for us, the support (thank you very much for turning out in ​such big numbers early on as well, amazing), but also for the main act The Beards.

What a show these guys put on, great musicians, great patter and well if you like your songs about beards then you are going to love these guys. Also if you want to stroke a couple of beards mid song, then these guys duly oblige so get down the front of stage early.  ​

Crowd in EdinBEARD almost packed out the voodoo rooms, and heard last night that GlasBEARD was almost sold out in tickets, so very little left at door. I cannot recommend ​this show any more highly, if you want entertained and leave with a smile then get along early.

Good times...

What a great night in our rehearsal space last night...​

We polished up the sets for this weeks two gigs with The Beards in both Edinburgh (Voodoo Rooms) & Glasgow (Broadcast).​ Also tested out a new new vocal mic that we are both very happy about, adding an extra dimension to Craig's vox, great addition (so far).

Then we finally got round to listening to the remixed new album tracks, and now feel we have almost reached the point where it will be good to go and get this album to the manufacturer.

Can now say though that the artwork for album has made us extremely happy, it has evolved through various different idea's but Ritchie (the designer) has absolutely surpassed everything we expected.

It seems that more and more are drifting away from having a physical product in the music world, but not us we love having a tangible thing in our hands that we have worked hundreds (if not thousands)​ of hours creating, evolving, practising, recording, editing and then coming to an agreement of the full design. To us both it is what we love doing all this for. It is a time stamp of where we are right now, a glimpse into our wee world of Dixie Fried. And what makes it even more worthwhile is the fact that people like you guys are listening and even buying - that also helps us fund the next batch of songs, so many many thanks to each and every one of you guys.

​If you are coming to either gig this week, please come and say hello we love chatting to all, whether you like (or not like) a tune or think we need a haircut (or even grow some facial hair grrrr) ha ha ha

We are back playing live next week, and cannot wait.

Lots of reasons.....

One, its been too long getting the album ready that cabin fever almost set in..

Two, we get to play 2 nights in 2 cracking venues

Thursday - Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh

Friday - Broadcast, Glasgow

and Three, we get to play 2 gigs with Australian band THE BEARDS

Most importantly we hope to see some of you guys there

New things...

Have you  had a chance to navigate about the new website much ?​

There is a few nice wee additions we'd like to point out.​

1) In the audio section if you look underneath the album, then we have all handwritten lyrics for that album, all available. ​

2) In the video section we have added a section that we will update as much as possible, it is titled 'what we like' and will be a link to a youtube video of some of the tunes that we are listening to now, or bands that we feel have an influence on our musical taste.

3) Also in the audio section there is a 15 song playlist of some tunes from the record label we are very proud to be a part of Big Rock Candy Records. Who knows you may hear something that you have never heard before.
