What a weekend
What can we say about that weekend...top notch !!!!
Saturday we were lucky enough to be the closing act on the Hayloft stage at Jocktoberfest, on The Black Isle. We arrived early afternoon to soak up the atmosphere and see what was going on, and on finding out the stage we were on, immediately fell in love with the area. The whole place was just perfect. 1000 happy people of all ages, having fun, enjoying great food, top quality beer and some outstanding music from all across the spectrum.
Jocktoberfest 2015, some pics
Images came from Inverness gig guide, some people in the crowd and Dixie Fried themselves. As you can see it was a stunning location (just 15 minutes north of Inverness), and we cannot recommend it any higher. A small intimate festival that is just ran perfectly. Brilliant, just brilliant.
And anyway, I don't think we can say too many more times that we had a man dressed in a flamingo costume crowd surfing to some Dixie Fried tunes, top quality memories. Also having been forced into playing an impromptu encore be a very vocal crowd (thank you) we got to play a very old favourite once again 'Have Love Will Travel'.
Then Sunday, travelling back down back to West Lothian in glorious sunshine we got home with enough time to get shower and changed then back out to Party In The Park at Bathgate.
Wish we had more time to have enjoyed probably our one day of summer this year, with all the live music going on and family entertainment all over Kirkton park.
That weather was just sublime and made the park just feel even better. We have played in the wind and rain there before, and it is a little flat. But yesterday was a hive of happy voices, smiley faces and a busy busy place (maybe this was the exact opposite to Bathgate's Gala Day this summer which was under 3"of rain, or so it seemed).
Great stage crew, top quality sound and the four or five acts we were able to catch were brilliant. Hope it continues to go from strength to strength.
Next up, Aberdeen in 12 days
Keep it Dixie Fried
