August update

Last few weeks we have been looking back at what we have achieved so far this year, and easy to say we are both very happy feeling very lucky to be where we are.

Gigs have been great this year, in new towns & cities, in new venues (and old) with a lot of new acts that have really took our breath away at times. The reception we have received at almost every gig has feel very grateful that people are enjoying and really digging our tunes and vibe.

Inverness, Aberdeen, Dundee & Perth are just incredible places to play music to an ever eager audience. And we cannot wait to come back as soon as we possibly can.

We have hid away the last few weeks to just jam again. Just the two of us, and let our juices flow in whatever direction we want. It is very very liberating. No restrictions on making sure each song is on the money for each gig. That the song order compliments each different gig. No beating yourself up for missing a beat or a change in riff. Just jamming. Try it, bloody wonderful stuff.

We have found ourselves go down roads we haven't travelled before, and others we haven't wandered down for years. All feel great to visit, and I dare say we will be back down those ways again real soon, when we are finishing off the next batch of tunes.

For instance last night we found ourselves wandering in the creative pool of rock, from Rage Against The Machine to Led Zeppelin then back towards the original Fleetwood Mac and falling straight into some cooking Eddie Cochran. All in all a bloody great night, and maybe the makings of at least another two brand new tunes.

Hope to get back in the studio, and have some finished products before the end of the year.

We have a couple of charity gigs coming up in October, that will release more news about very soon but for now can say Bathgate on Friday 3rd & Glasgow on Saturday 11th. Very happy to be asked to play both, as all charities are something we very worthwhile causes.

Keeping it Dixie for y'all

What a great month

We were back in the rehearsal room last night mainly focusing on finishing our new tune (which really does pack a punch), then during a wee break we sat back and thought what a great month June had been.

We played gigs all over Scotland...Glasgow....Aberdeen...Dundee & Montrose, we made a helluva lot of new friends, played in some top class venues, and sold a lot of cd's. On top of all that we have another new song finished.

Next few weeks we are focusing entirely on three things.

The first is to keep the new songs ticking over. Second to start at least one more new song (sometimes these can be done and dusted in 40 minutes, sometimes 40 hours), we have a vague idea of the direction its going to go in so we will see how it pans out. The third thing is have a cracking set ready for Southern Fried Festival at the end of July.

Marc Ford - 3 amazing solo albums (4 if you count download only) led us to see him in Edinburgh May 2014, playing all of his recent album Holy Ghost. Please buy it, amazing album.

Chris Robinson Brotherhood - Black Crowes lead singer on his 3rd Brotherhood album, they keep getting better and better.

The Rag'n'Bone Man - we were lucky to play with in Cardenden and blew our mind. What a noise, and yes we cannot wait to play with him again at Montrose. Check him out

Luther Dickinson - North Mississippi Allstars front man releasing a very rootsy album, some real gems on it.

Willie Watson - former Old Crow Medicine Show (joint) front man, releasing his debut solo album later this year, and we secured tickets to see him in CCA, Glasgow means an excellent Friday night out
