May....

Its been a couple of weeks since we have been able to say what has been happening without talking about up coming gigs, and thought we'd share what has been going on.

Glasgow

Glasgow

We have been getting the gear in the van and so far in last month or so we have appeared in Bathgate, Cardenden, Culloden and Inverness, and in the next 6 weeks stopping off at Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee and Montrose. We have been very lucky in seeing some amazing acts (including Homesick Aldo, The Rag & Bone Man, Adullboy, The White Russians & Gus Munro), and really looking forward to seeing many many more (Ewan Butler, Jamie Flett, Shoogar, and many more) at the next batch of gigs.

Montrose

Montrose

Last night we got back in the studio and got a chance to get our teeth back into a song that we have been really wanting to get it back on track. We now both know where we are going with it, with the foundations all in place and lyrics working very nicely. Just need to flesh it out a bit more, sort the intro tweak wee bits here and there, and who knows maybe experiment a bit with other instruments once we have a working tune. Very excited about.

This is hopefully the direction we will be taking over next few months, working more and more on new material, and if we can add in wee experiments here and there. Evolution...

Most recently we have been pretty excited about some of our favourite artists all releasing new solo cd's - all with Black Crowes connections.

Marc Ford - his last solo album (Neptune Blues Club) is right up there with one of my favourite albums of all time. New album is a slight departure from the previous but not any less outstanding. AND we get to see him in Edinburgh Voodoo Rooms in three weeks.

Chris Robinson Brotherhood - due out any day (there were problems with first release date), and if it is anything like the two previous Brotherhood albums or New Earth Mud then I know I will be one very happy punter.

Rich Robinson - third solo album, there are sneak previews on youtube just now and with the musicians he has around him for this, then this is going to be another great album. Hoping he still decides to come to Scotland, as it only looks like London is his only UK gig this year. Doubt we can make it down there, as we have a few gigs ourselves around that time. Still fingers crossed for an extra date

Summer gigs 2014

More gigs being added....

To keep up to date with the gigs we are posting, please check back to our events page ASAP. If we don't have all the info, we do up date each event as and when it is possible.

The recent gig at Dreadnought Rock in Bathgate only whetted our appetite to be playing some more live gigs. Yes its been great working on new tunes these last few months, but nothing like playing to a great crowd, that the Dreadnought always has. The other two acts, Adullboy & The White Russians were both equally fantastic that only added to another great night. Many thanks, and hope to be back later in the year.

Saturday 26th April - we will be in the Kingdom of Fife, Cardenden, for the first time in over 18 months, what a line up. Events for more details

Saturday 3rd May - back to the Capital of the Highlands for two shows in the one day. Details, yup you know where, the events page

Friday 6th June - Glasgow @ Broadcast. A Big Rock Candy label night, playing with Ewan Butler & Jamie Flett

Friday 13th June - ABERDEEN !!! Our very first time in the Granite City, and we cannot wait. Whether we have played Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Perth or Inverness we always seem to have someone ask us about playing in Aberdeen and now eventually we aim to deliver a belter of a show (so we can come back again a bit quicker). There are more gigs in the pipeline, and as soon as possible they will be added to our events page

Gigs...

Hi folks,

On the eve of our first gig of 2014 at The Dreadnought, Bathgate we have just announced a few more gigs coming up at the end of April & start of May.

There are more to come shortly after, but at present April see's us return to Fife for the first time in 18 months, and back to Inverness for a day of 2 gigs in the capital of the north.

For all details please visit our event page here

Cannot wait to be back at the Dreadnought tomorrow, always a great crowd in a great venue, and this time round we get to play alongside more friends, first off is Adullboy. We have been trying to get to each others gigs over the last year but never seemed to work out, so to fix that we do one together, perfect sense. Then we get to also see the debut gig of The White Russians, which, after hearing a few of their tracks is going to be something else.

For only £3 for some quality live music, how can you say no !!!

Keep it Dixie y'all
