ALBUM IS AVAILABLE NOW !!!!

(originally posted 4th July 2011)

Thank you for being so patient, and standing by us in Dixie Fried land, but yesterday was the day we could FINALLY say our album was available to download from all the usual digital outlets (iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and many others). We do also have a VERY limited amount of actual physical cd's that can be purchased from the band's official (and our preferred download site) http://dixiefried.bandcamp.com/

Here if you are able to purchase one of the real cd's, upon receipt of payment then you will be emailed a zip file filled with every track in whatever audio format you chose PLUS all the artwork that is connected with the album. Hopefully this will keep you satisfied until the cd arrives. Also the band earn 85% of each sale on this site which will be re-invested for album number 2. Compared to the next best download site at 40%, you can see why the band like this so much. Also if you just want to download with actual cd then that option is also there.

Right now that's out the way, we can talk about the weekend's magnificent FREE ENTRY gigs that we played in celebration of yesterdays official launch. Friday 1st was supposed to be @ Macsorleys, but 48 hours before the gig new owners took over and cancelled all future live music until further notice. Thankfully The Free Candy Sessions came to the rescue and found a slot for us @ The (liquid) Ship on Great Western Road. Always a great receptive crowd in there and we couldn't have asked for a better way to kick start the weekend. Thank you Pat for twiddling the knobs and let us blast The Ship more than it ever has been rocked before. Also Drew Gardner, McKell Ross & Gig, and also The Evil Geniuses for allowing us to be part of their night.

Saturday 2nd saw us on day one of the Dundee Blues Bonanza @ Nicholls on Ward Road. A few teething problems on arrival that were solved by Slide Boy Roy - a true gentleman, thank you again. But what can we say other than thank you Nicholls as the crowd were very very receptive to our 'dirty' style of the blues. Slide Boy Roy were fantastic, churning out classic after classic of blues well known tunes.

Sunday 3rd was both the launch AND our 2nd gig at the Dundee Blues Bonanza, this time at Soul in Dundee. By far & away the best sound on and off stage over the weekend, and our favourite gig in terms of how well we played. Not as many there as before, but the people who did make it all told us it was there favourite set of the whole weekend - maybe because we play a different kind of blues as opposed to the clean sounding Chicago Blues that most of the other acts seemed to follow.

Great also to finally meet Joe Roszkowski a true legend in supporting music at every level, was our pleasure sir. All in all a very successful weekend, good to blow the cobwebs away with a few gigs, and every person we met was a joy, full of encouragement for everything we were doing. Onwards & upwards, and look out for some more announcements for more gigs real soon.

Hope you like the album, and we would love to hear any comments

Keep it Dixie y'all
