December '12

Hey all,

It's been way too long and for my part I am sorry, been very busy getting ready for a crazy festive period on all fronts. You know what its like, finding the time as it runs away from you is becoming harder & harder lately. But here I am, and I promise to update you with all our goings on lately.

Well, first off had to update the security on the website as we were subject to some hacking from various different places. However all is good now, and if you want to leave any comments all you need to do is hit the 'Join us' tab up the top right of all our webpages. Doesn't cost anything, and you won't be bombarded by third party emails, its just so we have a direct email address to authorise your account.

Next, we had a blast of a night playing @ 13th Note alongside Jim Dead for Craigh Hughes latest EP launch (links at the bottom of this blog) in early November. Two amazing acts that we can't wait to play some more nights with. For all those that came along seemed very happy with the blend of different music on show.

We also just played a great charity night @ The Dreadnought Rock in Bathgate for Events of Charities. Images can be found here

That was the first of 12 nights in various venues all over West Central Scotland, our venue raised almost £700, making the first night total almost £1000 - which in this climate is just outstanding. Big thanks to all who supported in whatever way.

It was a great way for us to also test the water for our new set, with a shuffle here & there of order and 6 new tunes on display, especially our latest 'Ballad Of A Bad Man'.

When I say test the water, it is of course for our last gig of 2012 on Sunday 16th December. Where we play at one of the UK's most famous small venue's - King Tuts, in Glasgow, supporting Molotov Jukebox (link below) on the Glasgow leg of their UK tour. We are both very happy with how things went at the weekend, and next few practises will hone this set to a fine art (ha ha ha) for your pleasure. Well we have decided to thank everyone for their continued support this year, that we are quite happy to sell the tickets for this gig at the cost to ourselves of only £4 (at ticketmaster it comes in at £6 plus booking fee putting it over £8 per ticket). So to take advantage of this please click the following link for our 'friends' priced ticket.

On top of all the above we have actually been quite productive with new material as well. It is our main goal to finally finish recording the second album in the early part of 2013, so after the King Tuts gig we will be retreating from public glare, back into our cave, then studio to ensure this happens. We have many new songs ready to record, and we are hoping to record much more than we need for the album to then see what fits & what would be better to release before or after album.

Many thanks for staying with us this year, we have had a ball, next year promises to be fireworks.

Keep it Dixie y'all

Craig & John
