STV, King Tuts and more...

November has been a month and a half for us.

Supporting Bob Log III at Sneaky Pete's
Included in Les Frites Petites Vol 2 compilation album
Playing live on STV Riverside Show
and tomorrow finishing off the month with supporting Marcus Bonfanti at King Tuts, alongside Glasgow trio Manky Savage.

Yeah, easy to say we have had a good month....

When Bob Log III comes back to these fair shores (and believe he is a power horse and will 100% return) then if yo have never caught his live show, then it is simply a must. To see someone play guitar, dressed in a jump suit, wearing a flight helmet with a microphone attached to the front, but then imagine all that whilst crowd surfing in a rubber dinghy, only once witnessed that in the flesh then can you scratch that from your bucket list....check !!!

Local artists coming together to release a cracking compilation that can be downloaded FOR ABSOLUTELY 100% FREE (unless you feel compelled to donate then you can of course). We have talked about it in a previous post, but here is the link to stream for free, or download by only giving an email address for it to be sent the link to.

Yesterday, we were able to see the hard work and the number of people involved behind the scenes on the STV Riverside Show. We were made very welcome by all presenters, guests and workers alike, seems like a right tight family they have going on. If you were unable to catch the show, then for the next 5 days the whole show is availabel to stream on the STV player at the link below

To finish off the month we are back playing at the infamous King Tuts, where we get the chance to warm up the crowd for Marcus Bonfanti. Demand for tickets has been a little over whelming if we are honest. Selling out our initial allocation in about 2 weeks, and almost cleared the second allocation I think it will be safe to say we are going to make sure we have a good time with you all. A lot of people we will be meeting for the first time in the flesh which will be nice, and unfortunately as having friends as musicians always tends to happen that some are missing out by having their own gigs on the same night.

We have only a handful of cheap tickets left for tomorrow, and to secure yours then please send a direct email to john@dixiefried.co.uk by NOON FRIDAY and we will try our best to accommodate.

You might think that may be us finished for 2014, but I am afraid there is more to come, and the first being a Xmas Party we were only too pleased to accept an invitation to get the party jumping. The gig is on Saturday 13th December in Mid Calder, details right here

Tune back here on Monday 1st December, we have BIG news to tell the world, and this is the place to here about it first.

Thank you all for your continued support, knowing you guys are with us keeps us focused on what is coming next.

Keep it Dixie y'all

Looking forward to a bumper month...

Happy Halloween folks

Have we got a month to look forward to or what, read on for all the details, but we are proper excited and very up for making it a belter.

3 days from now (3rd Nov) - we support the one man enigma that is Bob Log III at Sneaky Pete's in Edinburgh. Heard yesterday that it is nearing a sell out, but if you turn up early at the door and use our name 'Dixie Fried' then there will be a few discounted tickets available, but not many. (see details)

6 days from now (6th Nov) - I get to go witness The Specials at the Barrowlands - undoubtedly the best venue in Europe, very excited to be returning to a place I almost called my second home I knew everyone that worked there at one point by first name.

18 days from now (18th Nov) - we both get to rejoice at the temple of Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes at ABC in Glasgow. His new solo album is breathtakingly brilliant, cannot recommend it any more.

21 days from now (21st Nov) - we play our last West Lothian gig of the year, and ITS 100% FREE ENTRY at The Tower, Livingston with the electrifying three piece The White Russians and the sublime Paul Vinter. (see details)

26 days from now (26th Nov) - we have our first appearance on STV Glasgow's Riverside show playing a few tunes absolutely and 100% LIVE. Let us know what you think we should play, we are thinking two of our best crowd pleasers and a new one, but gladly accept any idea's.

28 days from now (28th Nov) - we are supporting Marcus Bonfanti at King Tuts, Glasgow. Having already sold out our first run of tickets, we are collecting a second run tomorrow and keeping our heavily discounted available. NO BOOKING FEE, so almost half priced against ticketmaster prices. (see details)

As you can see its shaping up to be a great month of music all over the central belt of Scotland. We are going out of 2014 very happy, with a few new tunes in the can, more being worked on, and even more already planned during December & January when we retreat to our man-cave to focus on new material, before returning with some live shows in a couple of months time.

Life is good, enjoy your All Hallows Eve celebrating life and death with loads of good humour, then November join us in a musical journey as we rejoice in the present

Keep it Dixie y'all
