New Jukebox tune added

Hi all,

Its been a wee while since we updated some tunes that we have been listening to recently, so without further ado here is the latest list

1. Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes - The Lemon Song - I am fortunate enough to have tracked down a copy of this dvd over the internet (imported from New Zealand would you believe) and it is one of the best 3 hours you could sit down to watch, outstanding. There is a double cd been out for probably 13 or 14 years, but that doesn't cover any of the actual Crowes songs that were played each night.  This vid is a wee glimpse into that dvd.

2. ZZ Top - Just Got Paid - What is not to like of the South's power trio. One of the most recognisable riffs, and this version is from the Double Down DVD not too long after this dirty version came out. Top drawer stuff.

3. Jimi Hendrix - I hear My Train A Comin - Just wow !! I have heard many versions of this song, but I think this acoustic version if maybe the most powerful of them all. Sitting with a 12 string on a stool, heaven.

4. Rosalie Hill - Rolled & Tumbled - one of the most covered blues tune, captured for ever more by Alan Lomax's 'Southern Journey' cd. Beautiful acoustic version

5. The Black Keys - Your Touch - a long time ago, we went through a phase of playing mainly Black Keys songs, and we did see probably every UK tour of theirs until about 2 years ago. To me this vid captures pretty much how we saw them at The Barfly in Glasgow with about 50 others, raw, powerful but very exciting.

2014 is here, that didn't hurt now did it

Happy New Year one and all

Well we are well and truly back, the rehearsal studio has had its annual clear out, and we are starting to focus more for what we are wanting to achieve this year. We are receiving more and more amazing offers of gigs for later in the year, and as soon as possible hope to announce. In the meantime our main goals are to dive into our next batch of tunes, but this year as well as keeping our distinctive 'Dixie Fried' sound that we feel we have progressed from first to second albums, we have strong hopes for the next round.

We have no time frame for these songs to be ready, but working to get them right no matter what is our goal. There will be more instruments being added to some songs, however we have strong feelings about where these will go, and we are both very excited with what is going to happen. Hope you can dig them too. We have one completed tune already, and another pretty far down the line.

It is with great pleasure we can now announce our first gig of 2014, it will be Saturday 22nd March @ one of our favourite venues (and it is almost on our doorstep just adds to that feeling) the infamous Dreadnought Rock in Bathgate.

Details as always on our events page

Dreadnough Rock

For the price of a pint in a city centre pub, you will get to see not one, not two but THREE top class music acts.

Adullboy

Adullboy

Opening the night is Adullboy, who we are massively excited to see. We tried many times to see each other last year but we were always gigging ourselves. Solution = lets do a gig together.

The White Russians

The White Russians

Then we are very proud to announce the first gig of West Lothians newest loud, dirty, ear-ringing rock combo The White Russians. This will be outstanding for sure. We were very lucky to share our rehearsal space with these guys for a year or so, but they needed a bigger place for the volume was just wow !!! I have heard a few demo's and was blown away, and I know anyone coming to see them will never forget it.

All in all, come along and as with all our gigs at the Dreadnought you will be entertained for sure.

For those travelling the club itself is less than a 5 minutes walk from Bathgate train station (Helensburgh - Waverley line), and the live music will be finished in time to make the last train.

We will have more to announce very soon, so turn on, tune in, cop out

Keepin it Dixie y'all

2013 draws to an end, but.....

...2014 will hopefully be one year to remember !!!! First of all thank you all for staying with us this year, to all our new friends and those that have been around a bit longer again many many thank you's for keeping interested in what we are doing. Its been a fairly low key December for us, I had a scheduled knee operation 2 days after our Inverness gig. Can i just say right now that both were great and very successful. Hopefully with all the cd's we sold at the gig in Hootenanny's we may well be asked to come back during 2014. It was the first time in many a year I had traveled to the capital of the north and it will not be the last, totally stunning place. We did get one or two we jam's in during December, with brilliant results. There really is nothing like just seeing where the music takes you in a 45 minute blast of idea's between guitar drums, no chat just music...braw !!! Maybe a couple of idea's popped up, but you know what it was good getting together more than anything. One new tune is about 99% done, and idea's for another four or five, that is going to see something completely different for our next collection of studio recorded tunes. More about that during 2014... Any day now Craig Susan will become parents for the first time, and to say excitement is building is a bit of an understatement. We wish them great times ahead with junior. As a bit of thank you we have now made public, each and every studio recorded track from our first album on youtube. You can now listen on our own youtube page ( click here ) Details of our first gig of 2014 will follow very soon, but it will be in March at one of our favourite venues the Dreadnought in Bathgate, West Lothian. Have a great New Years celebration folks, stay safe and we hope to see you very very soon. Craig John Keeping it Dixie for y'all

St Andrews Day

What else can I say, but to say we are choking at the bit is an understatement...we cannot wait to Saturday 30th November, or St Andrews Day where we venture up to the capital of the Highlands of our fair country, Inverness.

We have had a self imposed 6 weeks of studio time working on brand new material, but for last 2 weeks getting the set ready for this gig has been our major focus. New tunes are coming along very nicely, but playing the set a few times has got us a big itch that is going to get one big scratch next weekend.

All details are on our events page right here

We are on stage around 11.30pm, and it is 100% FREE ENTRY at Mad Hatters / Hootenanny's, open from 9.30pm. We are on directly after local band Habitat and if you would like a wee sample of how good this night is going to be here is a wee soundcloud demo of them giving the slide guitar a serious workout - we like a lot.

Listen to H.A.B.I.T.A.T / Habitat - What You Mean - Demo | Explore the largest community of artists, bands, podcasters and creators of music & ...

Please pass this around anyone who you might know from the Inverness area, this is going to be one really busy night and we would love to meet a lot of new friends - so we can get another invite next year (wink wink)

More news coming soon
