Dixie Fried

Low down, dirty, sleazy Blues Rock

It's been a while ...(part 2)

I should add we are very excited about the fact two of our hero's are coming to Scotland for the time this July. The North Mississippi Allstars brothers (Luther & Cody) Dickinson are hitting The Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh as part of the Edinburgh Blues & Jazz Festival on Friday 20th July.

We bought our tickets as soon as they went on sale, and so glad we waited as we were almost heading to Newcastle to see them before they announced Edinburgh.

In case you didn't already know our band took our name from a song & album by the late great James Luther Dickinson that he brought out in 1972. You may not have heard the name, but you will have heard his very influential boogey-woogey piano skills, as he sessioned all over some amazing albums including Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones and many Ry Cooder tunes.

You can hear a preview of his tune right here http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001F14FA4/ref=dm_mu_dp_trk5

We have saw Luther a few times over last 6 years or so, as he was playing slide guitar for The Black Crowes but to see them both together, in Scotland is very exciting for us both.

If you can, get yourself to this gig...hope to see you down the front

Keep it Dixie y'all
