Is it possible to fall in love with a festival ?
Either way, every time we visit the wonderful Garden of Eden it's like we get bitten with the love drug once more. It has a magical aura that is very hard to pinpoint what makes it so special.
Is it the community spirit that helps build the site for weeks prior to the gates opening ? Is it the countless volunteers doing all they can to make you enjoy yourself ? Is it the fantastic array of different genre's of music on offer at some very special stages scattered all over the site ? Is it the whole place coming together when the power HAD to be turned off during a lightning storm Saturday afternoon ? Was it the 22-24 degree blazing sunshine ? Was it the smiles on everyone's faces ? Is it meeting dozens and dozens of friends from all over this countries electric LIVE MUSIC SCENE ? The answer is who knows, but it is probably all of the above and much much more.
Thank you Eden, you were perfect...hope to see you again from the stage once more (would be great to play a night show when the mood cranks up a notch or two), cannot believe how busy the tent got when it was el scorchio outside and almost hitting 22 degrees - it was much warmer on stage hahaha To be a part of the 10th anniversary celebrations was a real honour.
Brilliant seeing Matt Scott, Anna Sweeney, Al Shields, Andrew Taylor, Ross Craig, Stephen Scott and many many others on just Rabbies stage (well HMLV was more than decent on the main stage too). And CONGRATULATIONS to the main man with Black Cat Bone and his good lady getting engaged on Friday
Thank you Stephen, George and Phil for having us at Rabbies Tavern again, you guys done one helluva job. A brilliant blend of acts over the weekend, outstanding effort yet again. Please enjoy a few days of well deserved rest.
Thanks you Eden, hope we can continue our love affair again
To one and all best wishes for your good self, and hope you have a great 2017 !!!
It has been a crazy few months since our last update, many apologies. We had an absolute blast playing some great shows with 2 amazing acts. Which just goes to prove that the talent here in Scotland is second to none. We were lucky enough to play with Aberdeen trio Full Fat and the Ayrshire Adonis Matt Scott over quite a few shows all over Scotland. From Aberdeen to the Isle of Arran audiences were wowed and many more new music lovers have some new bands to follow. Fingers crossed we can do some more gigs with all of these guys again. We loved every minute (apart from the parking ticket in Aberdeen grrrr).
For the last 6 weeks or so, we have been honing two brand new tunes and about to demo them for more tweeking over next month or so. The tweeking will be continuing whilst honing the next three. Bringing a further five completed tunes for recording and completing album number three, for release during the summer months. As soon as we have details we will let yo know ASAP
In the meantime, here is the title track of one of my favourite album releases of 2016. Marc Ford The Vulture, enjoy
It is with absolute great honour to be able to announce some dates we will be doing during October and November with 2 amazing Scottish acts. At present there are 4 dates the length of Scotland, there may be more dates added real soon...
As the above poster shows we are doing 4 shows in Bathgate, Perth, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock (so far), along with Aberdeen's own Full Fat and Kilmarnock's Matt Scott. We are lucky enough to have played a few shows with Matt over the past couple of years and just know this mixture with the absolutely outstanding Full Fat and ourselves are going to leave many people very happy at these live shows.
More details for each night will be on all the social media sites of each artist and also on our own gig page here as well.
Keep it Dixie y'all - but this time with loads of extra calories involved
Finally, March has arrived and our month of live gigs has well and truly kicked off...you know what, it feels fantastic to get out playing and listening to loads of live music once again.
Friday night we kicked off in Glasgow at the best pub in the city McChuill's. No joke, you will find it very hard to beat the atmosphere, staff, punters and overall music vibe. And if you are a punter, it is absolutely FREE to get in, what is not to like ? We were lucky to have arranged an amazing line up to join us where we had Ayrshire lad Matt Scott and West Lothian band The Palmiros. And safe to say everyone went down brilliant with the crowd. 100% going to arrange more gigs with both where and when we can. Go check them out.
Saturday we mosyed on down to Kilmarnock to be be part of NHC weekend and also the first night of live music at the Bellfield Inn. Was an absolute honour to finish off a great night of music with John Strachan, Steady State Regime and local lad (and great friend of ours) Matt Scott. John was asked up to play some beats for John Strachan's final song and with both never heard either of the others music before we felt it went not too bad, but apologies if you felt otherwise ha ha Best of luck to Amanda and Bill in the new venture, you have a right great chance, with great sound in the venue and your idea's should have the place bouncing very soon. Kilmarnock (and every town) needs live music. Thank you to all who had us along, got involved and bought some cd's. Special thanks to Mainy and Kelly.
This weekend we are back in the capital of the Highlands, playing Madhatters yet again. Great city, venue and people. Yeah we are excited. AND we get to play with local festival favourites Searching For Donkeys. We are going to make it a night to remember.
We have some news coming this afternoon, excited
