Edinburgh Blues & Jazz Festival 2018

We have posted this on our social websites, but only just realised not on our own website...very bad, sorry

We are very excited to be invited to play the 40th year celebrations of this years Edinburgh Blues  Jazz festival, on to top it off we are also sharing the bill with good friends Jed Potts’ And The Hillman Hunters, who we also played with in Aberdeen earlier this year.

This will 100 per cent sell out, it is in an incredible venue on George Square

Almost Blues 2018

It is our great pleasure to be able to announce we are playing THREE SETS this year over the last weekend in June / early July in one of our most favourite cities, Dundee.

We will be an intimate set at The Pillars bar on Saturday afternoon, followed by two more sets at Malmaison Mezzanine Bar, one Saturday evening and one Sunday afternoon.

As always every act and venue is 100% FREE ENTRY, which only adds to the always relaxed friendly atmosphere. people can wander in and around all the different venues that can be walked to all within 10 minutes (usually only 2 or 3 minutes to the next one). I would urge anyone free that weekend who loves music to get to Dundee and have a great time.

There are more details of each set on our events page, and if we receive any more information about any of them, it will be posted within each event.

We will have some very limited CD's with us of our new album, and the fast running out vinyl of the new album as well.

See you all real soon

Eden...never fails to amaze...please don't change

Is it possible to fall in love with a festival ?

Either way, every time we visit the wonderful Garden of Eden it's like we get bitten with the love drug once more. It has a magical aura that is very hard to pinpoint what makes it so special.

Is it the community spirit that helps build the site for weeks prior to the gates opening ? Is it the countless volunteers doing all they can to make you enjoy yourself ? Is it the fantastic array of different genre's of music on offer at some very special stages scattered all over the site ? Is it the whole place coming together when the power HAD to be turned off during a lightning storm Saturday afternoon ? Was it the 22-24 degree blazing sunshine ? Was it the smiles on everyone's faces ? Is it meeting dozens and dozens of friends from all over this countries electric LIVE MUSIC SCENE ? The answer is who knows, but it is probably all of the above and much much more.

Thank you Eden, you were perfect...hope to see you again from the stage once more (would be great to play a night show when the mood cranks up a notch or two), cannot believe how busy the tent got when it was el scorchio outside and almost hitting 22 degrees - it was much warmer on stage hahaha To be a part of the 10th anniversary celebrations was a real honour.

Brilliant seeing Matt Scott, Anna Sweeney, Al Shields, Andrew Taylor, Ross Craig, Stephen Scott and many many others on just Rabbies stage (well HMLV was more than decent on the main stage too). And CONGRATULATIONS to the main man with Black Cat Bone and his good lady getting engaged on Friday

Thank you Stephen, George and Phil for having us at Rabbies Tavern again, you guys done one helluva job. A brilliant blend of acts over the weekend, outstanding effort yet again. Please enjoy a few days of well deserved rest.

Thanks you Eden, hope we can continue our love affair again

Eden this weekend

To put into words is very hard about how we feel about this festival, it really does feel like a big co-operative working together, so it is like one big family. Check out this video from behind the scenes

We first experienced playing there in 2016, when we played Rabbies Tavern (THE BEST POP-UP PUB IN THE LAND). There were so many other bands that we have played with over the previous couple of years, and others that we have played with since, all playing in the Tavern. Brilliant stuff.

2018 is the 10th anniversary of Eden going solo as a festival, as it was previously just an area within the fantastic and missed Wickerman Festival. So this year, the shouts went out from the organisers on who to ask back from previous years. It was a great honour to be asked back this special year, AND we get to OPEN the stage on Friday, kicking it all off (after Thursday night) at NOON ON FRIDAY .

Looking down the line-up and there is even more friends playing than previously, it is very exciting to be able to set the tone and getting everyone grooving from the get go.

What is also great news is the weather, it is looking very very promising with 18-22 degrees forecast and a little breeze (that should keep the midgies away...bliss)

Bring it on, cannot wait

For those lucky enough to be going, see you in the Garden, where no one is strangers, just friends you have yet to know

Remember NOON FRIDAY
