Very, very pleased to announce we have just been confirmed to support Australian Folk Rock band THE BEARDS (http://thebeardsblog.wordpress.com/) on both Scottish dates of their European tour.

Well its done, and we are more than happy...

Album number two is in our mind, 100% completed and now being mastered as I am typing this update.

Only a handful of practises left before we go and finish recording this second album, and if last night is anything to go by then these live recordings (the way we like to approach our album recordings) will not take long at all.

OK I admit it, this has been a little quiet recently, but believe me please when I say we have been very busy behind the online persona of Dixie Fried. January has been a month of admin, contacting many many agencies, festivals, promoters, studio, producers, designers and on top of all that having new tunes ready to record. We are both very pleased to say it was a very productive month indeed, and now very happy with the way our ship is steering.

We just received the latest issue of Blues Matters (issue 69) and very nice to read a review of our album within its illustrious pages. It is a great magazine, and always comes up with new acts for us to have a listen to every month, as well as some great feature.

Wow, just wow...

What a great venue that place is. Played several times up there now, and seen a good few bands as well. It is a warm place, full of history, atmosphere and most importantly a venue that believe's in the importance of having live music for entertainment.

What a very busy week we have had over here.

back to things Dixie Fried, since our last gig we have been concentrating hard on having some new tunes ready to record and add to our next set (if we feel they are ready). We have 2 sounding fantastic and very proud of where they are at right now.

Last 2 months we both have had different holidays so things have been a little slow to report what's been happening in our end of the world, but we are both back and hit the road running recently.

In between holidays, we sorted out our brand new set that we will be playing very soon indeed

What a great experience again with Danny whilst recording the first 4 songs for the next album. Everything would as good as we could have expected, but also a wee bonus as we recorded a jam session for a track we have been working on
